Well, I received a 2012 Franklin Christoph B&B Essential fountain pen last week. I mentioned in the Acquisitions page that I would post a review of it. It's a brief and fairly informal review, but I figured that I'd share my thoughts on it anyway.

In terms of diameter, what would you compare it to? Perhaps my narrowest pens are Parker 45's or a Pelikan M150. (~12 mm at widest, around 8 mm at narrowest)

Beautiful pen, Erik. Great review. Is the problem weight or shape when posted? I have a Delta (need to post on the Acquisition page) that I received recently that feels to top-heavy posted.

F-C specs put it at .48" (12.19mm) on the body, .38" (9.65mm) at the thinnest section point.

I imagine the problem is the weight when posted. If it's like the Captain's Commission, that metal cap is a good chunk of the weight of the entire pen.

Not my fav F-C design, but a very nice pick-up with that italic.
