I started with a TM 2 1/2 Starter, then got the 3" Artisan, decided that was a bit too wide for my tastes, and have been using a 2 1/2" vintage Sunasack mostly, and a 2 3/4 Hand American occaisionally. For me, the 2 1/2" just feels "right".
But then again, my new TM 2" horsehide just showed up, and doesn't look overly narrow at all....I haven't taken it for a spin just yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing how the narrower strop handles.

) I will head in a different direction, basically making the type of strop I prefer to use.... the 2" and 2 1/2" "Original" Old School types I first started with 6 years ago.
