AUTO PILOT SHAVE

Two Days Whiskers

MUSIC : To The Limit, The Essential Collection by Eagles, 2024.

PRE-SHAVE :

- Hot Shower

- Proraso Crema Pre Barba Rinfrescante (IT)

BOWL : Coconut (SP)

SOAP : Haslinger Schafmilch Rasierseife (A)

BRUSH: Simpson Eagle G3 Pure Badger, 24x49 mm knot (GB) -

A very manly sensation on face. I love this one.

SR: Rockwell 6S (US) :

The Ugly Duckling of the Safety Razors in terms of beauty, but a very awesome one. On Plate 4 it's just auto pilot of course. Don't need to think what you're doing.

BLADE: Gillette Perma-Sharp (3) -

Still rocking very well.

POST-SHAVE :

- 444 Alum-Block (PT) : mild feedback.

- Brut Après-Rasage Original After-Shave (FR)

THE SHAVE :

Easy 9/10. Two small weepers while going XTG on neck prevent higher score.

1st Pass: All WTG. Plate 4.

2nd Pass: All ATG except on Mustache and Chin Areas where I went XTG from West to East. Plate 4.

Touch-Ups: XTG Blade-Buffing on Neck. Plate 4.

May 7, 2024 Tuesday shave

Razor: Karve Overlander, brass
Blade: Personna Lab Blue (3)
Soap: Razorock XXX
Brush: AP Shave Co. G5A
Bowl: Captain's Choice Heavyweight copper
Post shave: Barbero alum block, Thayer's Witch Hazel
Aftershave: Captain's Choice Nor'easter

This was another stellar shave with the Overlander and Personna Lab Blue. No drama, no irritation.
Today was the first use of the Razorock XXX soap. It performs very well and was a bargain at $5 during the recent sale. Lovely soap!

11/10

Enjoy your day!

Funny, I also just had my first shave with XXX, purchased from the same sale, today. This is excellent soap. Really liked how the aroma made it into the lather and lasted throughout the shave.

Have you used other Razorock soft Italian shaving soaps and if so how did they compare for you? I've also used P.160 and Classic Italian and found the main difference to be scent with similar core shaving performance regardless of tallow/non-tallow base. Do have one more new one from the sale, Mudder Focker, that I've yet to try.

See my post #70,980 on this shave.

Used the same kit again today! Exceptional! :001_wub:

Superb shave!

I keep it simple but go all in. 9/10 today, with and against the grain. Forgot to put the razor in but it’s the same one from the last post lol.

Pre: Stirling Unscented Pre-Shave Soap Bar
Razor: Timeless Ti .95SB Matte with Crown handle
Blade: Wizamet SI (2)
Soap: Stirling Barbershop
Brush: RazoRock Hive 24 Mokasoft
Bowl: Timeless
Post-Shave: Stirling Barbershop AS and Cella Bio Balm

Another incredible evening shave with the Ti .95SB. It's so effortless, smooth and efficient. Love it. As an aside, the RR Hive Moka 24 (Synbad) is the best bowl-lathering brush I've used to date with Stirling soap. It's very intuitive for me. I saturate the brush and go straight to loading (no shaking the brush) and have an amazing fluffy load in about a minute. Then I bowl lather with a small splash of water until it feels right.

I have two other RR soaps that I just received, along with the XXX. I haven't tried them, yet.
I have tried the RR New York. I'm terrible at describing scents and fragrances, but the New York has a lemon / floral scent. It struck me as leaning slightly towards the heavy end of the scent spectrum. I didn't like it at first, but after a while the intensity of the scent decreased and now it's one of my favorites. But, as you know, the performance of these soaps is really good, and that is really a bigger factor for me than scent. At $5 per 5 oz. tub, it's a no-brainer to pick up a few!

Pre: Shower
Bowl/Scuttle: Captain's Choice scuttle
Brush: Simpson Trafalgar T3
Razor: Rockwell 6S (6 plate)
Blade: Nacet
Soap/Cream: Wm. Neumann's Old Fashioned Soda cream
Alum
Aftershave: Wm. Neumann's Old Fashioned Soda aftershave

10/10. 2 passes (WTG, ATG) plus some light touch up. BBS. No nicks or irritation. BBS.

Wm. Neumann's Old Fashioned Soda cream has been working really well for me. It's making it hard to go back to my soaps since they take more effort to lather up, I've been feeling pretty lazy and the soda scent is just so comforting.

Superb lather qualities and a strong lasting scent!
This solid razor was refreshed with tape on 0.1um diamond balsa followed by the HBA. The resulting edge was a buttery smooth and crisply keen balance...very nice!! Rating 10!!

Razor: Inoue Tosuke Kamisori
Hone: Vermont Green Slate/Vintage La Lune
Brush: Zenith “Uno”
Soap: Moon Soaps Bixby
Aftershave: Mennen Skin Bracer

This morning I use my one & only Zenith, hence the nickname “Uno” to whip up a Bixby lather with good results.

“Uno” is still in training, so I loaded heavy because he has a bit of an appetite.

The Inoue Tosuke was keen, smooth, and easy to use. A fine edge on an extremely well balanced razor makes short work of my whiskers.

A splash of Skin Bracer just like Dad used to do to finish my shave.

9.75 took a bit to dial in the lather with a new Hog but the rest of the shave was perfect.

I really enjoy my Wm. Neumann shaving creams. I think I’ll use one for my next shave.

Wednesday’s shave…..
Made in England, post war , oval slot Tech
KAI blade on shave #3
Kent BK2 pure badger
D.R. Harris sandalwood stick and cologne
IMG_7085.jpeg

Another Tech shave today. Excellent result although there wasn’t a lot to take down this morning. The USA pre -war Tech is better though IMO… more efficient and less irritation.
I’ll give this a 9/10. Just not quite as good as the pre -war today.
