Embossed, "Joseph Elliot's Best Silver Steel." Measures 5/8+ all along the blade, pretty much 11/16". Just professionally honed two weeks ago. Slight water staining, snug in the pivot, centers nicely. A name brand blade that is ready to mow 'em down!
Strop is included and is of very thick leather - 1/4" thick and yet pliable. Does not show in the photos but there is a second fabric strop behind the leather, so it is either cotton (likely) or linen. The leather has been reversed as the original surface is worn with nicks. The original surface is usable yet the backside is much better. Front is embossed in silver at the top, "Guaranteed Genuine Russian Tannage."
