Safety Razor Heads

I recently acquired a lathe and was planning on making my Dad and Father in Law shaving brushes for Christmas. I then came up with the idea that I could also potentially make them a custom DE razor, but I'm not sure where to get the heads (The Golden Nib seems to be sold out) or even whether or not I'd need to weight the bottom of the handle somehow.

Has anyone ever tried this or have a suggestion as to where I could find razor heads?

You could always look for Techs online (eBay) or in antique shops to use the heads. If you get it replated, it would look brand new, however, I have a few Techs with perfectly shiny heads after a polish.

You could also check with cooncatbob on here, he could probably sell you one.

The English Shaving Co. is selling Edwin Jagger (aka Muhle) 3-piece heads now for about $28.

Lots of Gillette Old Types out there with unusable handles (due to cracking). I'd go for those.
