What's new

Maybe I'll learn something.

I shaved a fortune
Well this morning I ordered iced coffee and krispy kreme donuts which got here by 2 different drivers at the same time. I did a dumb thing and rushed down the stairs to make sure they didn't deliver to the wrong building which has happened in the past. I then took a nose dive down 5 steps. I didn't really damage anything but my pride, but, it took me a minute or 2 to get back up.This is not the first time in recent memory that I have fallen, but, it is the first time I have fallen down the steps. :facep:
A few years ago.... I missed the last step a couple times within a couple months.... both times, falling onto marble or tile floors.... I sure felt it in my back but it did damage my pride more than anything....

5 steps.... ouch.... I'm glad you are mostly ok...

I have fallen a couple times getting out of bed. Dad has fallen a few times as well, the most recent was a couple of weeks ago stepping in a hole in their yard and twisting it. He has more problems getting back up than I do so it worries me when he falls. He has a Lazy Boy lift chair that helps him out a lot, but, it is stationary right now under warranty repairs with parts on order. The repair guy said they should be in by the 20th, but, he has been without it for a couple of weeks already. The 5 year warranty is great, but, it is a long time to be without his chair.

I hope he gets his chair back quickly... and it's a perfect repair.

Hoping you feel better soon, Michael. Coffee and doughnut deficiency is terrible. Worse when the effects are seen by the suppliers
I think I will lay off the donuts for a while, and, make coffee at home with either my French Press or Moka Pot, both of which are great. If I want iced coffee I will put it in the fridge. As far as feeling better goes I will try not to fall again. Not much real damage done. My knee was a little sore, but, that is mostly better already. Thanks for the thought.

We do have two story homes here in Gainesville, FL... but most are spread out, single floor homes, I think... That's what ours is... a split design... two small bedrooms on one side... the master bedroom and bath on the opposite side of the house, separate small TV room next to the two bedrooms and an open great area with kitchen under a cathedral ceiling in the middle....It's small by many standards, just 1805 sq. ft. under AC/gas hot air heat.... The two car garage isn't heated or air conditioned. We have a half of step into the front and back doors.

My last 3 apartments were on the 2nd floor, and, the 2 before that were in high rises several floors up with elevators. First the 12th then the 7th. A joy when the elevators were down. Now I am on the 3rd and I feel it. Both going up stairs and down. It doesn't help that I generally wear slides. The fall today probably wouldn't have happened had I been wearing regular shoes. Apartments tend to be multi-floor here in Indy.

Not made for these times.

When I moved into my new apartment, I requested ground floor with no stairs. Hauling a case of beer up steps is a real drag. 😆

Glad you're okay, Michael.

Eric I wanted out of my last lease so bad I didn’t care what floor it was. In hindsight I should’ve checked which I didn’t. I lived in this complex previously and knew it was a good area. I didn’t take into account I could end up on the 3rd floor.

At least I am not on the 3rd floor in Germany. They don't count the 1st like we do. The ground floor isn't numbered.

This last week or so I have had a BLT a day. Probably not the healthiest options, but, certainly one of the yummiest. Chloe hangs out looking at me saying I can has bacon? Some other time perhaps. Today was also special in that dessert is an Oatmeal Moon Pie. I had never heard of such a thing!

At first glance of your picture I thought that you had a oatmeal moon pie shaving soap there. 🤣🤣🤣 Now that would be a yummy shave soap.

It made me smile to read cane sugar in the ingredients.
Okay now I have learned how to say sugar cane in English.

In Italian “cane” is the equivalent of a dog
In English is it spelled cane sugar or sugar cane?
