I just did my monthly cleaning of my brush and my Gillete Fatboy with this stuff http://www.classicshaving.com/catalog/item/2053630/2184622.htm. Razor's clean as can be, but when I go to test the fluidity of the head-tightener on the bottom, it's really squeaky and stiff. Would oil help this out?
Is there any way to oil a safety razor?

SURE - try a mineral oil soak. I am always draining the wifes baby oil to soak my razors. When it gets dirty drain through a coffee filter!
Definitely a good method. The only caveat or additional comment I have is that you'll need to put some detergent on the handle when you finish and rinse off the oil from outside of the razor, or else you'll have a difficult time gripping the razor. But yeah, I had a squeaky adjustable and an oil soak helped a lot.

Thanks guys, problem cleared right up. Blade is a smidge oily now but I'm sure with a few days of shaving that'll stop.
scrubbing bubbles will get the excess mineral oil off the metal....
You can re-use razor-cleaning mineral oil to cook french fries.Oh, and you aren't reusing the mineral oil on the baby ro the wife are you
I use Dovo Sterol Oil on my Merkur V2000. It's lightweight and is recommended by Merkur.
I always just use WD-40.

I always use 3-in-1 oil. It has a nice, manly scent!

Be careful with the WD-40. It will strip the black paint out of the numbers on an adjustable. I know.... I've got two Slims now with bright shiney silver numbers.
