Hmmm...I think I like face lathering

Since I started using the Proraso shave soap with my DE razors I have found it's so easy to lather I tried face lathering for today's shave. It lathered up nicely after loading my Wilkinson boar brush and after a few seconds I had a nice cool lather on my face. I never tried doing it the using the Wilkinson shave soap I had and had to use a bowl. Proraso wins again!

Face lathering is a wonderful treat! I hardly ever bowl lather, I'm a 99% of the time face latherer. Enjoy!!!!!

Absolutely - whatever you do often you do well. And I'm equally sure that people who usually bowl lather daily have much better control of the lather and moisture that way.

My favorite method of lathering, the face lather. Had to give it up in my early 50's as the face would no longer tolerate it. Palm lather now.

I seem to always get better results with face lathering with a brush vs using a bowl

I prefer face lathering, and a boar brush is my brush of choice.

Every now and then I'll use a bowl and a badger or synthetic just to see if I can still use them, but will go back to face lathering.

I enjoyed it but I switched to a XL steel bowl. Cella mostly, I am not that creative with soaps.

I was bowl lathering to start but have switched to facelathering.
Not because it is "better" , but because I am "frugal" with my energy (lazy).
Having 1 less thing to clean and put away is a win with me!

I only face lather when traveling and it works out fine. Kind of tough and inconvenient to travel with a bowl. But at home I only bowl lather since I enjoy it more!

One doesn't have to choose one or the other. And unless you're a painter, lathering in a bowl to build the basic lather and then scrubbing it into your face is pretty much sixes. I have done every method imaginable but in the end, it all becomes face lathering.

When I only shave my face, I do find face lathering quick and easy and wastes less lather; but since I shave my head every 2-3 days, using a bowl makes it easier to create more lather at once.
So to me, the two ways are not opposites, but are used side by side.
