Scales were not usable. Replaced the scales with black canvas micarta, using the original scale as a template. I kept the pitting for character.

It honed up nice and gave me a BBS on the shave test.

Looks to be quite a lot of pitting. Am guessing it was too deep to get it out?

Thank you. I didn't do any sanding of the blade, just aggressive buffing. The pitting is shallow and could be removed at some point. For now it adds an interesting "old" look. It honed up very well and gives BBS shaves.
