Saint Sue Moore Memorial Fundraiser

It will be back. For now, enjoy the auction!! Fight cancer!!!
The purpose of hiding the BST is not to funnel funds into the auction.Allow me to quote a mod who once replied to me in PM one word, just one word: Wow.
Now I just had my BST privileges restored a few weeks ago (still haven’t even posted anything there) so why I’m going to risk it all now for some stupid reason is beyond me and my better judgment.
But it’s not a stupid reason is it. In fact it’s far from stupid.
It’s great that we at B&B hold an annual fundraiser to support breast cancer research, in honor of someone who really helped pave the way for all of the artisan soap makers we have now. It’s great to put it on the front page and advertise it! People have a good time, putting it in their signatures and suggesting in various threads to go check out the charity auction! That’s all fun and great.
What’s not great is removing the BST in a blatant attempt to try to funnel funds into the charity auction.
Now this is a privately owned website and Joel and free speech doesn’t apply here and blah blah blah. With that in mind I will likely face a ban for this. If not again from the BST, then from the whole site. So be it, c’est la vie.
I could list the reasons why this was such a bad idea, but you already know them. I’m sure the mods got together and talked it out. Well, you should have listened to the ones who said it was wrong - because they were right.
You ask people for donations. Forcing people to donate, either explicitly or implicitly, is extortion.
If you don’t already know deep down that this was a messed up and sketchy thing to do, then I’ll end with this: I doubt Sue would have wanted it this way.
Now I’ve said my piece and if this is the last thing you guys ever let me say on here, then I can hang my hat on it and call it a day. If not, I’ve been enjoying being back and would love to stay; just not in a place that does this.
It's a labor of love to Honor a Saint of a Woman. Thanks for the explanation, Phil.
Also thank you to the people who donated towards the auctions, those who bid in the auctions and the moderation team for dedicating their time to make this happen.

Nobody ‘forced me‘ to donate a vintage razor and some Tabac — I did it voluntarily and happily. It’s my small contribution to a worthy cause. I sent some goodies to the winner, and he sent money to fight cancer. And you’re angry that you couldn’t sell something on the BST for 72 hours?Allow me to quote a mod who once replied to me in PM one word, just one word: Wow.

Get some perspective, my friend.
I don't think I've ever been left utterly speechless, dumbfounded even, by a single post on B&B... Until now.
