That brush is the result of a restore I was attempting a few years ago. I broke the plastic bottom part and used a piece of wood that was given to me by a member to fix it. The knot is a common boar. I think that the wood was called Log Wood (from Central America).

Also, the original brush was a Made Rite #8.
