I grew up in New York, but was brought up to live and breathe the Red Sox. My mom is from Maine, so she made sure of this during my formative years. Also, going to college down the block from Fenway just added fuel to the fire.

But, to paraphrase an earlier poster, they have done much to screw up our game (DH, too many teams in the post season, too many teams and players to be able to follow closely, too few games against natural rivals). But, it's such a part of my life that I would go into withdrawal if baseball didn't come around in the Spring. The years that had work stoppages were awful.

I see the Jays also picked up Jon Rauch, former Twins relief pitcher.
