Does anyone know if dawn dish soap will damage a Pelikan M1000 exterior? Looking to buy one second hand and want to wash it given the current situation.

in very small amounts it will be fine. Think 1 or 2 drops in a sink full of water. Rinse it well with room temperature water after. I wouldn't use it on the pen's internals.
Use ORIGINAL. Not ultra, concentrated or ones with Bleach or Clorox in them.
Dawn Original is the only dish soap I use to clean non dishes type items.

Spray some surface cleaner on a paper towel and give it a wipe down. It’s not going to fall apart on you.

If it were a concern to me then I would simply use an antiseptic hand wipe which are commonly seen these days. That said, it would not be a concern to me
