I'll be waiting on your coffee crew report, my friend. There is a hotel in the airport. We’ll catch a few hours sleep, shower and arrive in Bali semi relaxed.

Yeah, I mean who wants a direct flight to anywhere anymore? Where's the fun and adventure in that? It's like you have zero control over anything and have to rely on people who may or may not give a damn.Your home base is Gainsville Florida correct? You flew from Gainsville to Atlanta, then to Orlando, then to Minneapolis... It would make for an interesting flow chart. Here's to a great trip despite an "interesting" start.
Glad you made it safely. We are safely in Bali. I took a few photos of the room, but they are more interesting to us than anyone else. It was night when we got to our place here, but I’ll get some more interesting ones shot tomorrow.
This is the nicest place we’ve ever stayed and not just in Bali. But for here, it already has real high speed internet, scalding hot water, no mosquitoes comfortable chairs on the balcony. And this just after a couple hours of being here. The lighted path to the wing/building was beautiful.
Now, after leaving our house at 2PM Eastern time on Wednesday, it’s now 1:07AM on Sunday morning. I’m a bit tired. <eg>

Our sleep last night was tremendous. They put us up in a Holiday Inn Express after the flight cancelation.... We were only there for a couple hours and it was much better than camping out at the airport. But getting here and having a full and wonderful night sleep was a welcome relief. It sounds like there’s still a lot of difficulty re-booking flights when something goes wrong or your plans have to change. Never used to be a problem but after Covid the airlines cut a lot of capacity and all the flights are full. I certainly noticed this in 2022 but I didn’t travel last year and I had hoped things would have started recovering by now. Apparently they haven’t.
Well done for sorting it out with a sensible route and only losing a day. They still turned that lost day into a combination of a homelessness simulation and working as a travel agent for free, but that’s modern life and succumbing to rage doesn’t help.
The good news is that arriving finally at your accommodation in Bali and putting down your suitcases must have felt even more wonderful as a result of your travails. Something as basic as having a bed for the night feels like a luxury. You can relax now.
Thx for your interest, Eric. I think I've lost a few people who used to read this thread religiously. It was a bit more fun during my buying frenzies. <eg>Thanks for the updates, Kim.
The current version is still pretty interesting. I wouldn’t mind some pictures of your room or the hotel grounds or anything. My chances of getting to Bali any time soon are pretty slim.Thx for your interest, Eric. I think I've lost a few people who used to read this thread religiously. That said, I think Aaron's thread has been a great place for new discussions on any and all topics. He's a great host.
Boo Hiss.... on the snow. The pics look good. They have my favourite trees in them...Palm trees, which always tell me I'm somewhere warm and pleasant...usually. Enjoy...it just snowed here again.
