Nice job! I actually like the way the sanding dust got trapped in there. From the photo it actually looks like part of the coloration in the maple and helps the 3 colors "flow" together. If that makes any sense. Even if it doesn't I still like it.
Agreed. I think it adds to the look in a very good way.

Great work, and I'm a fussy cabinet maker that's worked QA/QC for over 15 years. Beautiful crisp lines, very fine finishing ; make them in acrylic for a 24mm knot and I'd sending you money.
