What's new

I dropped my...

I dropped my British Rocket on the bathroom floor today.

Now it squeaks when I turn to open and close it.

Plus one of the doors doesn't open all the way now.

It was my favorite razor.

Hate when that happens.:mad3:

I am so sorry. Is there any way to fix it? Are the doors bent?

As far as I can tell the doors look ok.

Still something has happen.

Unfortunately, I don't have a magnifying glass stand and the small tools to fix it for now.

I'll hang on to it until I get the mentioned equipment.

That Rocket is a damn fine razor!

Wow that's too bad man. Sorry to hear that.
I've had great razors that were or got messed up, so I know how it feels. Broke a tooth on a #15, broke a silo door on a #21 while trying to fix it, got an American Rocket-no not a typo, an American Rocket-with a totally bent head...
I hope you're able to fix it

Bummer, here's to hoping it turns out to be an easy repair and winds up as good as new. Seems like it most likely is something externally visible.

Did you see how it landed/which part took the force?

Well looking at it again to my surprise the squeaking noise has gone away.

The one problem now is the one door just doesn't fall down all the way when open.

I think the area around the pin may have been bent just a tad.

When I get the proper tools I'll give it a try to fix it.

By the way, I picked that Rocket up for just $5 and it turned out to be my favorite razor.

As long as it locks up nice and tight for the shave !!!!! :001_smile

My #58 doesn't open all the way, but it works fine with a blade locked and loaded , that's all that matters.

Good News.

B&B member "Bingo Bob" PM me and has offered to take a look at the Rocket.

He has the tools and experience in dealing with this "Gillette door" situation.

Another example why this forum is great.

Just wanted to thank "Bingo Bob" for his help.

Got my "Rocket" and "SuperSpeed" back and they work perfectly now.

Thanks again Bob for your help.

You are another reason why the B&B is a great forum.

I hate it when that happens! I once dropped my FUTUR on a ceramic tile floor and bunged up the head. Broke my heart in two!
