I have this straight razor with wooded scales with a windmill inlay. The razor shows no brand identification, country of origin, nothing. Has anyone seen this razor before? Thanks.
The windmill scales weren't terribly uncommon. A quick search on ebay shows a few William Elliot razors with them. Looks like a homemade scale job, someone cut the windmill scale and inlayed it into wood. Hard to tell much about the blade.
If you magnify the picture slightly, you can see that the inlay itself is smaller than the hole for it, making it very likely that it's not a professional job. Good call, @Darth Scandalous!
I agree now that you guys mention that. The cutting is not as tight as a professional job would be. I do find it strange that there is no identifying stamp on the razor, although I have seen others without a stamp. Strange that any manufacturer would do that.
