French Steel Week April 22-28

Only one I have, but I love it. A rattler grind by Manufacture Française d'Armes de St. Étienne.

This is the only French razor I have, it was one of the first few I bought off eBay. I could never get a very good edge at first and stuck it in the drawer for a long time. I brought it out one day, honed it up, and was shocked at how good the edge was. It’s been one of my top razors ever since.

I haven't posted anything in awhile but I'll throw my hat into the ring this morning. 5/8 LeGrelot Hospital. This was one of my very first successful bevel set edges from years ago. It hasn't been used in the last year.

The original scales were black but I had them replaced with these acrylic faux horn scales created and installed by @Doc226 years ago.

Thus morning's shave with MdC and finished off with Myrsol Emulsion.

Thiers-Issard 1937 Special Coiffeur 6/8 Half Hollow, Semogue Torga C5 Mistura, Stirling Unscented with Beeswax, and Floris No. 89.

Back in 2021 after spending the family fortune custom ordering a very warped Thiers-Issard, I said screw it and bought this factory-sealed razor on the cheap from a large retail knife seller in Arlington, VA. This razor is straighter than an arrow and came with a decent factory edge. I have only ever put this razor on finishing stones and it shaves great. I do love C135 steel.

I would describe the grind as hollow, not half hollow, despite what Thiers-Issard says.
