Who are you calling a "cheapskate!?"Arko is a very inexpensive shaving soap from Turkey. It's a favorite of Turkish barbers and cheapskate shavers everywhere. This box of ~900g worth cost around $15 shipped in the U.S. and probably less than half that much in Turkey.
It smells somewhat like mosquito repellent candles but don't let that put you off.

OK, how about "value shopper"? Better, I hope! You really do get a lot for your money with Arko.Who are you calling a "cheapskate!?"
Just playing with ya. Yeah....I've been called cheap before.OK, how about "value shopper"? Better, I hope! You really do get a lot for your money with Arko.

The scent reminds me of something you might use to mop floors with. I wouldn't call it horrific, but kind of industrial. Some people say it reminds them of Ivory soap. There are so many better scents available, but nothing comes close to Arko for performance per dollar.NorthernSoul,
Do you really get a lot of “value” for your money or just a lot of “Arko!”? Is it truly as horrific a scent as being described here?
No Curly, it is an excellent well-priced soap, smelling of a somewhat primitive artificial lemon. No deal breaker for me. Very 50's. To be honest, Tabac is rather close in smell to my now battered and poorly functioning nose.NorthernSoul,

Exclamation point added to Arko in deference to my friend, Alum Ladd.
And out of respect to FarmerTan. “In the land of congenital anosmia, Arko is King!” Long live the King!

BTW, my favorite soap at the moment is probably Haslinger Sensitive, which is unscented. It smells a bit like spackling compound you might patch a wall with.
Alum Ladd! Good evening, my friend!!!!No Curly, it is an excellent well-priced soap, smelling of a somewhat primitive artificial lemon. No deal breaker for me. Very 50's. To be honest, Tabac is rather close in smell to my now battered and poorly functioning nose.
However the performance is on the whole excellent, being one of the last tallows around, and for this price point, absurd value.
Our great mutual friend G-1 fondly enjoys the company of Arko! in their (unchronicaled so far) shaving adventures.
Need I say more?
My phone is out for photos Curly. Will post Arko and G-1 asap!Alum Ladd! Good evening, my friend!!!!
You Arko!-guy, you! Please post your pics to defend the honor of Arko! I’m beginning to think no one truly shaves with something quoted as being so olfactory-offensive. Except maybe FarmerTan who might suffer from some form of congenital anosmia. Or he’s the only shareholder in Arko!
Let’s see some photos of G-1 and the magic of “Arko!”!!!!
Too bad this forum isn’t “scratch and sniff” compatible. This would save valuable time.
Best Wishes, My friend!

This thread ended up providing a lot of laughs for me, and this gem takes the gold medal. If I had seen this before making my labels, it very likely would have ended up being included in my final product in some way haha. Well done buddy
This is absolutely amazing, nicely done! I do think this cost more than the soap inside though.Hello everyone, I wanted to update you all on what I decided and subsequently created. Thanks again to @APBinNCA for the maggard's jars suggestion. I picked up quite a few for some different soaps, but starting first with Arko. I made some custom sized labels, printed them, ran them through the laminator, and then affixed them to the container before smashing some Arko sticks inside. It's not perfect, but it's enough to satisfy my OCD for the time being. I can now happily bowl lather my Arko in something I hope @FarmerTan can be proud of! I've attached some pictures for closure
Not a bad idea! I may, at the very least, have to make one and stick it to the inside of the cabinet with my soaps. That way I can have a laugh every time I reach for the Arko tub. And as for the cost, $3 for the container, and 50¢ to print and laminate. So yeah, it actually was just over the price of the two sticks I smashed into itThis is absolutely amazing, nicely done! I do think this cost more than the soap inside though.
Maybe you can make some stickers of the image @NorthernSoul created!?
