Just a question. I am new to straights and do not have a leather strop yet. Can a 2" cotton canvas belt be used until I can get me a leather one or is that too rough on the razor? Just a thought.
My understanding is the the leather component is the indispensable part. The linen/cotton part is often considered optional, though if that's all you have it may do in a pinch. I've always had both so I can't really say what it would be like with just one.
