Clog pruf or micromatic?

I'm excited; I've shaved with a g-bar and loved the results so I'd like to see how this one stacks up.

The angle, for me at least, is a little different from the G-Bar to the Micromatic. Not by much, but enough to cause some blood loss if you're not careful. The feedback from the MM should make the proper angle pretty obvious. Good luck, the clog-pruf is my second favorite MM, after the open comb.:thumbup1:

I have and use the GEM open comb Micromatic, the Clog-Pruf, the G-bar, and the "bulls-eye." IMO the Clog-Pruf gives the closest shave after the open comb. The Clog-Pruf is a great SE razor that doesn't seem to get the appreciation of the G-bar.

Totally agree with you! I'm not sure how the G-Bar (or as Gem actually called it, the "Heavy Flat Top") got to be the king of GEMs, but I'd take a Micromatic any day. Heck, I'll even go for a 1912 before loading up a G-Bar if I had a choice, and that says a lot from me:wink2::lol:

I have the Micromatic OC and G Bar and the OC gives the closest shave. Use either Gem stainless or the Ted Peller coated:thumbup:

I have a couple of clog pruf with different "bump" patterns on the bar. Getting pics, I can do. Is there some directions on how to add to the Wiki? I'd actually like to add a comparison shot of the two different handles on the G-Bar as well, and add the their real name is the "heavy flat top".

Please take a nice picture or two of the clog-pruf (especially with the head opened) and post it to the wiki? We don't have one of that model yet.

Feel free to ask questions if you want help.
I didn't know there was a wiki, I couldn't find much previously before trying some ER/Gems.

Good deal, and thanks! Basic info on adding pictures to the wiki can be found here. The page to upload content is here.

Editing the text information is pretty easy and you may not need any additional instructions at all. Click the "edit" tab on the particular page and go to it.

About the "third" micromatic, the bulls-eye and the bullet tip are the same, right or wrong? I've got an OC and a bullet tip. Haven't tried the bullet tip yet, will come back to the OC micromatic in due course. Favorite SE so far is the Junior.

I have a micromatic bullet-tip (plastic tip) with no sign of a magic eye or bullseye. There's a picture of it on the wiki. I figure it was probably wartime production, and the plastic tip was done to save a little metal, but I don't know why it doesn't have the magic eye.

The bullet tip and bulls-eye, or more accurately "magic eye" (GEM's ad campaign was something like, "Let the Magic Eye guide you to a perfect shave") are indeed the same razors.

Interesting that it doesn't have the eye. The plastic tip is the only GEM that has eluded me:mad3:

Absolutely. As soon as it arrives I'd be happy to do so.

Was trying to figure out the reason for the term "bullseye". Eventually found this thread, where one post has a picture of a bullet tip with the bullseye on the blade cover. Mine is all metal, but does not have this bullseye either.
