My original spring was made from a safety pin but it can be done from a paper clip. keep in mind the clip or pin will have to be filed down flat on the underside but not on the topside where it will come in contact with the adjustment dial, the roundness of the clip or pin is what will give it the click sound and help to keep the dial locked into place.
