Frustrating quest for the perfect alarm clock

The clocky seems like a great idea if you have no pets . It looks great but in my house it would end upon my dogs head then start rolling all over the place .

I have the dog beds right next to my night stands I could just imagine Clocky landing on one of the dogs they freak out start barking and munching the thing to shreds .

the puzzle clock also sounds great but same thing what happens if one of my dogs thinks the piece is a treat im screwed or even worst of the pieces hits my wife in the face while she is sleeping me and the clock will be sleeping on the couch for a long time.

I'm still using a GE 7-4880 clock radio that I bought back in 1980. It has a keypad that allows you to directly enter the time, radio station frequencies, snooze delay time, etc. I will be a sad camper when it finally dies on me.

However, when the time does come for me to replace it, I will probably get the Boston Acoustics Receptor Radio.
