Clean used brushes

I got a couple brushes today, that were previously used. They are in great condition (thanks, RBE17). However, is there anything I need to do to clean/sanitize them? I have read MDUNN's tutorial for cleaning, and I plan to do that, but more specifically are there extra steps to take to sanitize used brushes.

Thanks,

If you mean to kill tough bugs probably anything that would survive soap and hot water would likely damage the brush. So no boiling water or harsh chemicals.

I've had good luck cleaning my brushes with a good tea tree oil shampoo. Give it a good shampooing and rinse first with warm water, followed by cold water. Let it dry overnight, and then do the same again for the next couple of days. That should make sure the brush is good and clean. After the last good shampooing use any good conditioner and rinse the same way. :001_tongu
