I got hold of some pretty veneer, very thin stuff.
Played around a bit & epoxied it to some 1.5 mm aluminum.
The epoxy stiffened up both the aluminum & strengthened the veneer, creating some
rather thin & light scales with a very nice, wooden texture to them.
The veneer is protected with a couple of coats of clear acrylic lacquer.
Wedge is more aluminum. Pins Niag & washers stainless steel.
They hold & protect one of the finest shavers ever coming out of Eskilstuna.
The Klas Törnblom faux frameback.
This particular specimen had to have a nose-job, because someone had obviously played a little rough with him.
But the scales were such friendly sports that they tried to accommodate his shape, to make him feel a bit better.
Thanks for looking
