The quality of the Express is about 2 levels higher than the Compact almost like it was made by a different company. The coffee's great. It's a narrow unit and has a setting for high altitude and indicates when it's time to clean. And it's soundless except when the coffee's running into the cup.
After my new Keurig Compact made watery coffee I bought the K-Express and what a difference.

I've owned 2 different Keurig's in the last 15yrs and the descale light has never lit up on either one of them and the water in this town I live in absolutely destroys coffee makers... I do change filters at least once a year though.
