Acrylic and wood handle

Sounds fragrant! Looks a lot like maple. I know that figured maple depends on using very sharp tools or it tears, since there is no order to the grain.

I have made 3 brushes using eucalyptus burl. All of the pieces I have used have large voids in them that I fill with epoxy and sand down as I turn the handle. Eucalyptus burl is very beautiful wood, but I have never found it to be very fragrant when turned. On the other hand, sassafras is fantastic when turned. I leave the shavings in my shop simply for the smell. Too bad it is carcinogenic.
