1st restore = migraine

I have the same exact blade from Greaves. It has etching on it. I haven't been able to make out what it says, its obscured by pitting.
The blade came with buffalo horn scales, which I intend on restoring.
How does it shave? What did you hone it on?

I have no idea of that date. There is no country of origin or city stamped anywhere, but "sheafworks" is a dead give away for Sheffield. I didn't see the slightest hint of an etch on the blade.
I honed it on Naniwa super stones, but haven't had a chance to shave with it. I gave it back to the guy that gave it to me to let him see it, he couldn't believe it was the same razor. I'm waiting on getting it back because I want to put buffalo horn scales on it. I'm also working on a few other blades, but my job has me working 7 days a week and I'm beat. My paycheck will be nice and buy me some proper tools.
