Hi Guys!
Let me present to you a new GILLETTE sets (i did not found any pics or informations about thoses on internet or books) , witness of the history of Gillette and the newspapper l'Auto which became l'Equipe following its dissolution for collaboration with the Nazi occupation.
Here are two set made for the newspaper l'Auto. The first was proposed during the occupation, the second mentioning L'Equipe was proposed following the liberation and the creation of the newspaper L'Equipe.
These two settings are the testimony of an era, its end and the desire to erase memories linked to the occupation and Nazi collaboration
The fact that both together are of the same type and that L'Auto newspapper did not survive the liberation and the fact that the newspaper l'Equipe was created in 1946 we can say that the Auto dates from the period 39- 44 and the 1946-1947 period for L'Equipe (maybe 48 maximum with a lot of doubt).
Both razors are SR cape type 102 (Or 102A) silver plated, without serial number,no patent mention made in usa and G in D stamped.
For the moment, i never saw or heard nothing about those sets in internet or elsewhere...
