Here's something of potential interest. I dated a woman some years ago and if memory serves, she liked the scent of 4711 (she mentioned it, I wasn't using it at the time.)

Curious, I was, so I did a bit of search about the constituent aromas and found the following ingredients list. I was curious to see if I could recreate the scent in something "more natural" using essential oils. I never got around to the project as our relationship never developed and this wasn't a critical/necessary enough a curisosity for me to pursue it.

That said, your post sparked my recollection and I may venture down this path as time permits me now. If I do, I'll post my results...no breath holding however!
