Just received this Mühle Rocca in the mail.
Those are the kind of scores I like. Lots of great razors out there that are just hidden under grime. Not surprised by how many resellers there areI went antiquing yesterday with the Mrs and scored a pair of flare tipped super speeds for a couple bucks each. They’re going in a drawer, but the score of the day was this cased Slim with the 2 blade cartridge still in it!

There’s one blade still in the cartridge, and based on the condition, I’m thinking the gentleman may have used this razor once then shelved it.
Here’s the “after a nice bath” photos.

Blackland Osprey Prospector Edition by the Razor Emporium. Matt’s shop removed all of the finishing lines on the razor, polished it up, and plated the entire razor with rhodium. The brass insert has been plated with 24K yellow gold. The sharp edges on the handle are less sharp now but still aid in maintaining grip. What a gem!

This is actually not that short! Many handles are in the 85/86 mm ballpark, while I like them as long as possible this usually works for me.My handle measures 79mm long, so I'm pleased (75mm handles are my favorites).
Holy dooly, thats a sink banger and a half, I would assume it was a cast iron enamel sink too at that.I assume he liked to bang his razor on the sink to clean/dry it, thus the thoroughly bent corner teeth.
I don't know if it was me, but they are pretty different even from photos - the Tachi top cap has a built-in angle guide, split lather channel (to support the blade from the bottom there, Katana had a large blade gap but neutral or slightly positive blade exposure where the Tachi seems to have both more blade reveal and blade exposure. This is actually not that short! So this made me wonder why do I perceive it as too short. I think it is the comb. One could parade an elephant under it, but let's not exaggerate, but for sure a fingertip. So yeah, I would still love 1,5 - 2 cm more handle.
You probably already shaved with it and I hope you liked it. You might have to get the Fatip out of the mind regarding the angle, while they share a design heritage, they still shave and want to be used differently.
My upcoming razor delivery contains a "Tachi" head, a half-DE-blade razor head that seems to be at least somewhat related to the Yaqi Katana, though @Slapo (if I recall correctly; I read a posting by somehow with the same or similar name elsewhere) found quite some differences.
Most embarrassing is that I am by now looking for two days already for my razor handle box. I reorganized it in a clean-up campaign a while ago and now I no longer find it where it used to be. Or anywhere else so far!
I will try to fit a Feather Pro blade in, let's see... exposed bladeHowever, if someone were to successfully use injector blades in the Tachi, that might change my mind.
I meant the shorter, Schick injector style blades. I think a twinjector blade has notches on the sides that just might fit.I will try to fit a Feather Pro blade in, let's see... exposed bladetabsgets an entirely new meaning with such a setup.
Apollo-Mikron Gen. 2
- Not NOS but a pretty complete set
- These German tanks are just something else!
- Red marks to align the top cap, the threading on the centre rod and 1vs2 red dots above the dial seems to be the minor differences.
- I wonder which model came first
