Description
On a shaving brush, the bottommost visible part of the bristle above the topmost part of the handle. Used for measurement purposes to describe the diameter of the brush, measured in millimeters. The true knot of a bristle load may be larger or smaller than the measured knot, depending on how deep the bristles are set into the handle, but any discussion of knot measurement refers to what is visible to the user, not what is hidden within the handle.
