How I Found B&B

I started shaving around age 13-14 with my dad telling me for about a week "you need to start shaving boy". Well I guess he finally realized I wasn't going to start on my own so he gave me a Gillette Sensor Excel and a can of shave cream and told me something along the lines of "just put this on your face, take short strokes, rinse the razor often and here's some aftershave " and left me alone.

I operated under those guidelines for a very long time. Along the years buying in to the 3 blade & 4 blade systems but the good ole Sensor Excel was always my favorite...until a year ago when they started really putting a dent in my wallet at which time I switched to Bic disposables. I used those dang Bics for 3-4 months and got terrible shaves, horrible! I wanted to go back to my Sensor Excel desperately but there was no way I was willing to pay the price for cartridges.

I've always seen/heard talk along the years of safety razors (DE) but like a lot of people had been brainwashed in to thinking that the cartridges were the best and the DE razors will just slice you to pieces. I can't even remember how but I stumbled upon B&B, lurked around, then decided to buy a Merkur 34C and some blades and brush. Ordered a Merkur 34C off the bay, bought the VDH boar from Walgreens, and ordered a 50pk of Astra SP off Amazon.

I had already read enough from B&B to know the basics of wet-shaving and the first few months really really enjoyed it. I then fell in to a little...."my job sucks so i'm gonna grow a beard to show them!". And thats what I did. I put the few month old razor away and grew a beard for 6 months. It was awesome! Everyone loved it! I thought I'd never shave it off!

Then I went on a week vacation and when I got back to work I realized that I was wasting my time there because I hated it so much and quit. I then thought "crap....no one will want to hire someone with a huge beard".....so I shaved it off. I came back to B&B and registered under the name DEshave, which has since been changed to Toothpick....read about it here.

Thanks to B&B I've turned shaving in to a hobby and throughly enjoy it. I think that's about it and if you have read this far I bet you are thinking "holy crap man just finish this already!"...so on to the goods
