"Y'all know me. Know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this bird for you, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down to the pond and chasing bluegills and tommycocks. This shark, swallow you whole. No shakin', no tenderizin', down you go. And we gotta do it quick, that'll bring back your tourists, put all your businesses on a payin' basis. But it's not gonna be pleasant. I value my neck a lot more than three thousand bucks, chief. I'll find him for three, but I'll catch him, and kill him, for ten. But you've gotta make up your minds. If you want to stay alive, then ante up. If you want to play it cheap, be on welfare the whole winter. I don't want no volunteers, I don't want no mates, there's too many captains on this island. Ten thousand dollars for me by myself. For that you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing."

West Coast Shaving DE Sampler Pack (Extended) Experience
This is to serve as my memory of each blade in my sampler pack, and how it performs in various razors.<br/>
Current favorite is:<br/>
;Feathers
(closely followed by Red Pack Personna)
Dorco:- - 38C = fine shave, probably comp. to Wal Mart Personna (about 3 shaves)
- - SS = a little less aggressive/smoother, very acceptable (1 shave, then put blade in Tech)
- - Tech = actually took from SS for second shave, similar results as with SS, a little smoother (2 more shaves)
- - Krona = wow...my best results yet with Krona (and best results with Dorco) (2 shaves)
- - Lady = as expected similar to SS, but with longer handle I had more control
Crystal:
- - 38C =
- 1st use: nice, a little agressive
- 2nd use: Smooooooooth!
- 3rd : as expected, nice and smooth
- - Tech = (4 shaves)
- Very Nice - 2nd shave verrry smooth
- 3rd shave, 3 words: Bee Bee Ess!
- - SS =
- 1st - sim. results as Tech...used samples from California North, so a little out of ordinary, but still good results
- 2nd - expected results, nice and smooth, no irritation
- - Krona =
- 1st use: very nice, much better in lighter razors than heavier ones
Red Pack (Israeli) Personna:
- - 38C = Holy Crap!! Where have you been all my life!!! BeeBeeEss without even trying! and was in a hurry!
- - 2nd, 3rd & 4th shaves, as good as first. Most impressive, indeed
- - got six, yes 6, shaves from this blade! most I've gotten before has been 4 with Wilkinson Sword from local grocery store, and it was rough going
- - Krona
- - very nice, this is looking more and more like my go-to blade
- - made 5 shaves with it, might go more, but have been alternating with 38C/Swedes the past 2 weeks, hard to tell if drop in performance is due to normal blade use or too long between uses, IE oxidation, micro-rust, etc
Derby:
- - 38C = 1st & 2nd shaves = great; had high bar to achieve after RPP, but came through nicely
- Made it to 5 shaves with this blade, potent performer indeed
- - Fatboy = chose to use Derby for the maiden voyage
- very good results, especially considering it was a rush, 2-*** shave; used "3" for first WTG pass, used "1" for second XTG pass & touch-ups
Swedish Gillettes:
- - 38C = fairly aggressive 1st shave, but smooth; 2nd & 3rd shaves just as first, blade is consistent, I'll give it that!
- up to 5,th shave, exact same as 1st, less aggressive, probably result of my adjusting of technique to cope, but same smooth shave as the rest, no real noticeable drop in quality, not sure it's worth the cost, but solid, reliable and consistent
UK Wilkinson Swords:
- - 38C = very nice, a bit sharper and smoother than the local Wilks I can get (German, I think). Took down 3 days of growth no problem, 2 WTG passes, then 2 XTG passes (N-S, then S-N). Right up there with RPP and Derby
Feather:
"Mr. Feather, your legend precedes ya..."
W O W . What a blade. I never imagined that performance to match the hype (esp. since Derby let me down in that regard), but what a shave. Decided to go with a light, gentle razor based on its legendary status, sooo...
- - Krona = oh, so super....if RPP is my Obiwan Kenobi (ep. III), then this is the Luke Skywalker ep. VI...smooth, 1st shave, 2 passes, super smooth, didn't need to shave again for 2 days! 2nd shave, every single bit as good as first. The blade only kept this performance for 4 shaves, though. On a related note, have not achieved the same number of shaves with RPP as my first blade, it's still my favorite price/performance blade, but subsequent blades have only gotten 3-5 shaves on average.
- - '76 SS = maiden voyage for my birthyear razor, veeery nice. Got spoiled to the longer handled Krona, but my Tech technique soon came back. Feathers are awesome blades; 4 shaves with no drop in quality at all, 5th was a little rougher than new Feather, but still smoother than most other blades. Meesa like!
Lord: (not in Sampler Pack)
- - Tech
- Decent shave, probably comparable to Dorco or WM Personna
- 3rd use pretty rough for me, probably won't get but 2 shaves, but those 2 shaves are acceptable, probably not going to try these in my heavy razors
