Ingredients

  • 3 pounds of large fresh shrimp in shell (remove heads)
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme, dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano, dried
  • 4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 5 tablespoons black pepper
  • 4 bay leaves, fresh
  • 4 sprigs of rosemary, fresh
  • 1/8 teaspoon red pepper

Method

  1. Melt butter in olive oil.
  2. Add all other ingredients except shrimp.
  3. Let sauce stand for at least 15 minutes.
  4. When ready to cook, add shrimp and sauce to skillet and cook for about 15 more minutes, stirring often.
  5. Divide shrimp in individual bowls and pour sauce over them.
  6. Serve over Italian, French, or Greek bread.



Have extra bread for dipping in sauce.
