Muhle R89

There are two known variations of the Mühle R89. The current production model is the safety bar variant.

Description: Chrome-plated DE safety razor. Knurled, hollow handle. The knob at the bottom of the handle has lines as well, which are interrupted by two rings.
Also available with a black resin handle (R106) and a white resin handle (R107).

Notes: This head, manufactured by Mühle, is identical to the head used by Edwin Jagger in the DE89 series razors.

R89 (Open Comb)

Description: Chrome-plated open comb razor. Has lines along the handle. The knob at the bottom of the handle has lines as well, which are interrupted by two "rings".

Notes of Interest: Rebranded Fatip (Italy) safety razor. This model was discontinued in 2009, and replaced by the R89 (Safety Bar). Review of the pre-2009 open comb model

Description: Single ring below the head with barber-pole knurling along the handle. The knob at the bottom of the handle has two rings, one above and one below the Mühle name. The R89 is one of the two safety razors being made by Mühle, the other being the Mühle R41. Both are of similar dimensions and weight. The R41 is an open comb while the R89 is a closed comb. The R89 is chrome plated.
