I don't think the revulsion for Zamak and other forms of pot metal is a new phenomenon. I think that it has just been suppressed until recently because of the scarcity of stainless steel razors. IIRC, when I first joined this forum about six years ago, one of my first questions concerned stainless steel razors, and I learned that the only available such razors were Russian military surplus. I know that in my case, if you offer me a choice between two equal razors, one of pot metal and the other of stainless steel, I will grab the stainless and run if the price is less than twice the cost of the pot metal.
