I've been through over 400 samples of fragrances. From Farina 1709 to Frederic Malle Eau de Magnolia. I've tried almost every eau du cologne in the Farina tradition. I've been through all the greats of early 20th century classical French perfumery (Guerlain, Caron, Coty, Chanel). I've tried all the post-war classics (Eau Sauvage, Pour Monsieur, Eau de Givenchy, etc.). And i've sought out some of the mostly highly esteemed niche lines today. I distinguish between my top 5 fragrances of all time and my top 5 fragrances that I would wear, though a couple overlap. For the sake of this thread I will list my top 5 that I wear:

Acqua di Parma Colonia
Guerlain Vetiver
Guerlain Habit Rouge
Parfums de Nicolai Vie de Chateau
Frederic Malle Geranium Pour Monsieur

Frederic Malle Vetiver Extraordinaire really should be up there too because it is on the same level as Guerlain's Vetiver IMO.

YSL La Nuit De L'Homme
AdP Essenza
Hanae Mori HiM
Creed Green Irish Tweed
Guerlain Vetiver

* Honorable Mention- YSL Rive Gauche- My wife absolutely hates it, but it's so in your face delicious.

Creed Green Irish Tweed
Chanel Platinum Egoiste
Chanel Allure Homme
Bleu de Chanel
YSL L'Homme

(what can I say ... I'm a slave to the house of Chanel)

Terre d'Hermes EdT (EdP is really growing on me though)
Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme
Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche
Dior Homme Intense
Creed Aventus
