Your top 3 shaving soaps.

This is a very YMMV question.

Are you looking for best performing soaps? Best smelling soaps? Best value soaps? Our shavers will rate products in many different ways....

You're going to get tons of different answers. I love a slick and protective lather with a great scent and a good to great price. I have stuck with cheaper soaps ($12 or less), and my votes are Mike's Natural Soaps and Stirling. Others will say (in no particular order) Martin de Candre, Tabac, Arko, and numerous others.

My top three are DR Harris, Stirling and…every other soap I own. Honestly, I couldn't nail down just three. The first two are definitely up there though.

MWF, Tabac, Stirling, Cella, RazoRock, Proraso, Williams, Arko, VDH Luxury Scented...

My apologies, but there's too many greats to nail down just 3.

For me it's Tabac, AOS (yes even the new formula) and MWF.

I have many more but those are my top 3.

Ever changing and evolving, I suppose, but there are 3 that are always near the top for me:

1. Mitchell's Wool Fat: If I had to choose one soap to use for the rest of my days, this would be it. I've never experienced the lathering problems some apparently do; for me, it lathers like a dream. Slick. Cushiony. Luxurious. And nothing leaves my face feeling as soft and wonderful as this clean, mild, perfectly scented beauty. Nice presentation in the ceramic bowl.

2. La Toja Stick: This stuff produces a thick, nourishing lather with ease, providing excellent protection and a close, smooth shave every time. The scent is one of my favorites; imagine standing in the edge of a mossy hardwood forest, looking out onto a sand dune as a salty, warm but refreshing sea breeze hits you in the face. That's what it smells like to me. Another one that always leave my face feeling great, and the plastic container with holes is a simple yet great design.

3. Proraso (Green): This one was a real toughie for me, as choosing a third meant I had to leave out a few truly great soaps that I will never be without. Being forced to choose, I must go with my first love. Proraso just does everything well; good protection, very slick, etc., but I will forever associate this Italian barbershop staple, with it's menthol goodness and classic scent, with my abandonment of canned goo and subsequent love affair with wet shaving.

Your top 3 would include whatever you thing makes a great soap, that is why I said "and why"

I have a ton of new soaps en-route, so this list will change in the coming weeks, but right now it's Cella, Barrister & Mann, and Pedal Pusher Fancies.
