Your rarest razor

Recently acquired a Davis Rythmic Razor, made in Glasgow for a few years in the 1930s. It will be used on my birthdays and on Dec 25th.
Had to look that one up - interesting! Its where i was born/live, will need to keep an eye out :)

I think three have been sold in the last five years. According to Google the one before mine went for $1000+. I get goosebumps every time I look at mine, first shave will be in October.

Amazing man! Good to see that your going to use it :) Kinda like me with my darwins, only used them a few times, but nice pieces to have :)

Just found out today that the razor with a shinny spiral handle that I thought was an oddball Aristocrat is really an Executive . No wonder I liked shaving with it, only wish I had the case that came with it.

I think this qualifies as a rare razor. I believe it is a Gillette NEW Deluxe prototype that was never offered for sale by Gillette. Note the protrusions on the base plate that match up with a special blade that was never mass-produced to my knowledge.

I think it is a cool piece of shaving history that I wanted to share. If anyone has any further historical knowledge on this design, I would welcome you to share!

Unfortunately, I cannot safely use it without painstakingly modifying a blade to fit (or modifying the razor, which I do NOT intend to do!).

Enjoy!
