Your Best 2-pass Razors that are Smooth?

I am 100% convinced that two passes will not give you a real BBS! No matter what razor you use. I want to emphasize that this statement of mine applies to people who have a real full beard, with average or above average density.
Since there are already shavers on this post getting a two pass BBS, I would prefer to reword this sentiment to read I can't get a two pass BBS no matter which razor I use. I agree that one's beard and skin play a significant part in this quest, and no doubt in some cases makes it impossible to attain.

In fact, I confirm even more categorically, a two-pass BBS is impossible!
Now we need to clarify, what is BBS?!
BBS is not feeling stubble, in any direction, when you run your hand over your face and without irritation. If you feel any bumps, or there is irritation, this is not BBS! This is a failed shave!
What does one pass mean?!
One pass is when you make one stroke, without repeating in this area more, one soaping and one movement in this area, without multiple strokes!
So, can a man with a real beard and a thick beard do BBS according to the above description?

It's odd, but I've discovered that if my Old Type is loaded with a fresh Nacet (this I've only gotten to work w/o at least a weeper or two with a brand new blade) - if a good lather is applied, and I shave slowly in a no-pressure, lightly rotating motion that takes both with and xtg stubble at the same time, a second full and careful thick lather allows for a fairly comfortable straight ATG pass, and I can get a fully BBS result with minimal overlapping strokes in what are technically two full passes.

FWIW, this was one of those notions that I undertook when a bit bored on a few vacation days - not a manner I regularly shave in! :001_smile

I don't shoot for BBS but do regularly only use two passes when shaving with a straight.
The razor that did get me a 2 pass BBS shave was the Cobra Classic. It was so good it was boring.
For me that's been the best razor with high consistency and comfort.

That’s incredible technique! My hats off to you Sir! I tried the J hook and it’s amazingly how well it works. Thank you for sharing

My razors would be the Wolfman 1.55 SS, Rex Ambassador, Rex Konsul and Stando Leszy.

I will also say, alot of times when I do shave, in general, its WTG, XTG, ATG. Certain spots I only go WTG as below the adam's apple line of my beard hair, the growth is all over the place so to try and avoid not getting the hair under the skin (where say the day I shave and next day is good, the day after is redness, not in big spots but there some then after that day its gone due to the hair regrowth), yes that is how its been for me.

I guess my point is that even though I do the XTG, I only do it as thing to do, it never really does much for me in terms of grain reduction, I do it more for touch ups than anything else and just because of shaving more, which I enjoy so in a way alot of my shaves are 2 passes, in way.

Did not mean to add so much information just the way shaving has been for me.

I do 2-pass shaves and find Timeless razors to be the smoothest of all the razors I have tried.

The smoothest of all is the .68 plate, followed by the .95 for a bit more efficiency (solid bars for me).

Recently, I acquired the Slim (SB), which requires solid technique. However, when the shaving angle is correct, the Slim is incredibly smooth as well, and efficient.

This, This week, with Fine, New, Sharp Blade.
