Youngest Shaver?

My son became so fascinated with watching me shaving every morning that he pestered me to have a go.

So I gave him a cheap chinese TTO, a small hog hair brush and some soap.

Each morning he lathers up and follows me along - he's six!

I hasten to add that he doesn't use a blade in his razor but at least he's learning and should bypass the Mach3s when he really needs to shave.

My wife added that the other bonus is that he's getting a good wash without knowing it :001_smile

I just wondered if anyone knew of a younger 'shaver'?

Way to break him in right! I think you should contact Nike ASAP and see if they will offer him a contract. :thumbup1:

That's really neat. Of course he can tell the girls in high school he has been shaving for 9 years already.

I just hope he doesn't ask to have a go at straight razor shaving some time soon.

I have one but it's kept under lock and key.

I did this with my son last year at about the same age. He enjoyed it a few times and it was quite cute. Occasionally he tells me he wants to do it again, but he hasn't been up early enough.

PS: I noticed T&H sells a childrens 'shave kit' on their website.

Great story - I remember when my son was that age, he used to love copying me as well. He is coming up twenty one now, and loves the '61 Fatboy I bought from you a couple of weeks ago. Guess what he wants for his twenty first birthday? - I'll definately be ordering another razor from you before November.

Can't you get him a "practice razor". Breadknife the blade on a cheap st8 and he could follow you along with a straight. Test the blade on your finger before handing it over though!!

Wish I could say my son started that early. He's 15 and been shaving with a mergress for a couple of months now. He and one of his friends were poking around the shave den admiring the hardware. His buddy admitted that he uses the fusion and stated that it's the best shave ever. My son said ok you only have like one hair on your chin.
I think my son is taking it upon himself to convert his buddy.

Or couldn't you get him a shavette razor and remove the blade? I think that is a real cool story about your son learning DE shaving!

I must admit when I wanted a razor to use for the first time, my dad got me a Gillette Blue II disposable! When I got it, I pointed to a DE razor but my dad wouldn't let me have it. He said "You must learn to shave properly first". However on my 12th birthday he got me a Gillette Sensor.

The horror! The mistreatment of children these days. :frown2:
