You Want it WHEN from Vintage Scent?

I surely hope the SOC is worth it. I cannot say I'm all that happy with Vintage Scents and their shipping. I ordered (and paid for) a brush on August 11. According to the Vintage Scent website, the order was "processing" as of today. I wrote to ask when I may expect the brush to be sent. I did get a response saying it would be shipped sometime this week and... "It usually takes 7-10 days to arrive". As I have heard of this same set of circumstances from at least two other B&B members who wound up waiting for weeks on this brush, I believe this may be common practice for Vintage Scent. Surely makes me appreciate many of the quality and customer service oriented vendors found on this site...patience, yes it is a virtue.

I have never had an issue with Leon. Sometimes Customs can hold up progress a bit but that is all. And "yes" the SOC is worth the wait.

I've been waiting for about 3 weeks for mine. After 7 days of processing, I finally inquired about it via email and was shipped that day. The 7th is when I placed my order and hope to receive it this week.

Yeah mine has been "Processing" for 9 days. Like Todd Snider says-"Life's too short to worry. Life's too long to wait."

Be patient my friend! Do you realize where Vintage Scent is? Leon and company are excellent vendors. They will keep up their end and are great with customer service. Their prices beat everyone so a few days or week extra wait is worth it for me. Plus, I think there is something just cool about getting a Semogue direct from a vendor in Portugal.

"Remember, It is August and half of Europe is on vacation"

I know....most of them are here in my neck of the woods I think. Folks from the Continent surely enjoy shopping in the States, especially at the big Factory Outlet Malls. Can you say crowded???

I wonder if that means he is selling product on the fly and maintaining little (if any) standing inventory? When did you hear of these issues from other members? Why would you order from them if you knew of this issue? :confused1

Hey I'm not chucking Leon (Whoever he is?? Probably the owner??) under the so-called bus. All my correspondence comes from somebody named "Bruno". I am merely stating the obvious, which is buying stuff from this outfit seems to be a drawn out procedure in some (I don't know how many) cases. I post this sort of thing so that others who may choose to do business with Vintage Scent have a heads up as to what they may have to deal with as far as when they may expect their goods to be delivered.

Odd it seems...whenever any criticisms about certain vendors show up here, numerous posts extolling the virtues of the owner and how swell they are always follow closely. I'm sure Leon (and probably Bruno) are simply apples...but it would be really nice if they sent their stuff out sooner after it is purchased.

Foley, AL?

The question really is... "Is the bargain and quality worth an extra week or so wait?" That one is easy for me. I have ordered from VS about 3 times know and I think I have received everything in less than 3 weeks which is fine for me. It's not like I don't have any other products in the shave den to use while I wait.

I concur. All it took was an email and it shipped that day. However, you shouldn't have to do that. For an entire week, it just sat as processing.

No explanation was given. Bruno was great in emails and even awarded me the discount for a late coupon entry. But still frustrating. I knew there would be extended shipping times but not an unusual waiting period.

Because Vintage Scent sells for 30$ shipped. WCS close to 50$

Service is one of the things you pay for. It is implied in the quote that you may have to pay more to get what you want when you want it. Otherwise he is worrying as well. I hardly think this is worth worrying for if you are saving ~40%. Also if delivery times were important I cannot see the benefit of going with an overseas vendor...it could end up sitting in customs for weeks. I ordered something from Germany and it took almost 12 weeks to deliver! Vendor sent it DHL which no longer has a US component so it basically disappeared after the first 3 days and sat either in US Customs or Postal for 11 weeks. Of course that purchase was close to $1,000 dollars, but I still did not get nasty with the vendor. When I got my package I was happy I had not.

But I want it cheap, I want it good and I want it NOW! And I'd like to divide by zero while we're breaking immutable laws.
