You can teach and older dog new tricks

I want to say thanks to Robert from Louisiana whom I met in Mertz Apothecary in the Palmer Hotel in Chicago at the end of December. I am now in my sixth decade and have been wet shaving everyday since I was 12 years old. I thought that no one actually was wet shaving anymore. While flying to Chicago for my son’s wedding, a certain airlines that is based out of my home city of Dallas decided that I no longer needed my dopp kit (with some of my now unobtainable rare older British badger brushes, double edge razors and high blood pressure medicine) and removed it from my checked baggage. Thanks Sxxxhwxxt Airlines! As they say, “there is always a silver lining.” Robert showed me shave cream and soap that I did not even think was still available in the US. I had been hording shave creams and soaps hoping that I would not run out before my demise. He also told me about the wet shaving forums on the internet. Here was someone half my age telling me about wet shaving. It was great to see his passion and it made me realize that I have always looked forward to shaving everyday. I have never understood why some men go days without shaving or do the unthinkable and use one of those electrical contraptions.
Thank you Robert and Badger & Blade. I never use the same soap, razor, or brush in at least a week at a time. It now seems that thanks to you guys, I might not use the same soap in a month. There are so many soaps and so little time!
