What's new

Yikes

I've been shaving "properly" for a couple of month's now and finally decided to get over my being a wuss regarding my Red Tip (told its an aggressive razor) and Feather blades (told they are sharp) combination.

I bit the bullet and ...

no cuts, nicks or weepers, WTD, XTG and ATG and a tiny bit of a touch up along my jawline and a BBS

my best shave ever

Thanks B&B :001_rolle

Biffo - I've been practicing with my red tip for two weeks, with almost no luck with Dorco 301s, Sharks, and Gillette 7 o'clock green perma-sharps. I was ready to give up last Thursday.

Than thanks to some input from the boys here I worked on the angle. Yesterday, I threw in a Gillette 7 o'clock black. And its been unbelievable shaves for the last two days.

This morning did two passes (wtg and xtg) and even got the right side of my neck smooth. No cuts no bruises no pain. Just a DFS.:cool:

I have shelved my Red Tip for the time being. I will definitely give it another go at some point in the future. As an aside, I tried my Merkur 38c again last night just to make sure I really didn't like it... nope, still don't like it. :frown:

The aggressiveness of the Red Tip is a bit over-stated.

My Red Tip gives me consistently close, comfortable, and wonderful shaves. Like the above poster, I have found it performs really well with a Feather, but all of my razors I have tried so far perform really well with a Feather. :tongue_sm

I was a little slow to try out that combination as well. Once I did I loved it. So far it has been my favorite. There are still many yet to try but this combo has set the benchmark for me.
