What's new

Yes Dear! What job drives you crazy at home?

I am a fairly handy guy around the house, I enjoy keeping the ol casa del Goose in good shape. BUT (and you knew that was coming.)
I hate to hang curtain rods and window treatments, It seems I just get everything up and squared away, level and plumb when it NEEDS to be replaced, of course the rods need to be changed as well, patch plaster prime and paint-start again. AHHHHHH.

What job drives you crazy?

As a female with a hubby to do all those honey-do jobs..... Which reminds me he has new curtain rods to hang for those new drapes in the living room. I have two huge windows in my living room, one faces east the other south so I'm lucky enough to get morning and afternoon sun. So I've bought drapes to help keep the heat out in the summer. That way my central air doesn't need to work so hard. *grins*

But i absolutely hate doing laundry. It wasn't bad when I was single or after I got married. But now three kids later....... Oh i hate doing laundry. I would rather be making soap!

Don't mind

- Vacuuming
- Folding laundry
-Cooking
-Building tables or bookshelves
-Taking out garbage

Don't like but will grudgingly do

-Put dishes away
-Cleaning windows
-Ironing my clothes every morning
-Change poopy diapers

Really don't like

-Scrubbing the bathtub
-Washing truly greasy pans
-Pulling hair out of the shower drain
-Cleaning/replacing sliding door screens
-Replacing the rollers on the balcony sliding doors

Jim I hate to say that just about any job does. I have a serious back issue that puts me on limited duty at work. But at home, the wife does not remember said injury and asks me to do all sorts of stuff that work forbids me to do.

While we're at it, why is it WE who have to clean the hair out of the drain? It's not our hair. It's not physically taxing. I don't have any jobs I really hate, but what - can't stand is when you're the ONLY one who does something. Like filling up ice cube trays. Orrrr, cleaning hair out of the drain.

While these aren't common tasks (and not always done at my house):

Honeybee comb/honey removal
Radiant barrier installation

I hate to start mowing. Once I have started it I don't mind. But it takes so much to get me started.

I also hate to change the cat litter.

Let's see, doing dishes, laundry, cleaning the bathroom, mowing, snow removal...........Oh wait, that's why I have three capable kids....

You sound like my father. It wasn't until I was 17 that I began reminding my dad that I got to pick his nursing home.

That was my mom's philosophy! I was like the foreman, and my younger siblings were delegated, usually while I made dinner. I'm thankful for the training.

Thanks for reminding me of kitty litter, black! I forgot about that joyous task, since I haven't had any felines in years.

Since I only have a three day work week and my wife pretty much goes non-stop, I have the pleasure of being Little Suzy Homemaker. That being said, I don't dust and I don't make the bed.

Got that one too!!!

I look at it this way, they will thank me when they are older for all my worldly experience I taught them and how I readied them for life on their own.

Not to mention how thin my wallet gets at the end of the week....:001_rolle
