Yeouch AS Milk! Bad shave.....

Too much irritation!

Second straight razor shave? A few spots I paid particular attention to, took careful aim, a slightly more aggressive angle... perfect, smooth, no irritation inone pass!

Mostly? Bad, and irritated. A few cuts (I was being more aggressive, on my second shave...), the Styptic is awesome though.

So, after shave milk... holy DAMN that burns! More than the alum!

Maybe I'll try it after a decent DE shave, to see if it is tolerable... I love the BRT smell. It doesn't burn any more than an alcohol splash would anyway. Man I need to learn to use this razor....

So on my third and fourth straight shaves, I've found that not irritating my face makes the aftershave not sting.

Good stuff! It's either enjoyable or educational, depending on which I happen to need most at the time...

As your technique improves so will the shave experience. Took me about a year to start getting some real good straight shaves and learn honing, stropping etc.
I'am still learning more every day.
As they say practice, practice.
For me it helped when I put ON my glasses

I'm mostly going by feel, not really visually paying too much attention. Up around my sideburns I'm trying to get the razor where it belongs on the face, get the angle right, and just work it. Beyond that it's not really too interesting for me to inspect closely unless I'm trying to figure out how to shave my neck (often, this is very interesting and unique).
