Yates Stonewash Finish

Okay I KNOW I've seen this somewhere, but I'm having a time finding it. I'm thinking about lightly polishing the head of my 'Merica razor which is in a SS Stonewash finish. I don't want to remove the finish if possible, just make sure that it glides a touch better. Anyone have any experience with this?

I did mine and have posted pics a few times - that might be what you're thinking of. I couldn't swear to it that it made it any slicker. And if fact there could be an argument for a polished surface actually being stickier than mat surface (they dimple the golf ball for a reason). It was a couple years ago so I can't remember clearly about any difference in glide.

I did it because I wanted to get just a bit more blade exposure. And I got exactly what I was shooting for. I wasn't after shine or looks so I didn't bother with the flat top - just the parts of the cap that ride on my face. I wouldn't do it if more glide were the only thing I wanted to achieve.

If you are anywhere near my part of the world, you'd be welcome to try my cap and compare.

This looks awesome! Good point about the dimples in the golf ball. That is an interesting proposition: taking some of the material off for a bit more exposure -- can you link the thread where you talk about it? I don't want to make you re-explain the whole process ha!
