XTG x2???

Hello All.

So thanks to the wonder that is B&B BST forum, I am now the proud owner of a straight razor. And, as of a few days ago, again thanks to BST, a strop.

This means it's time to shave.

Only problem... My cheek, from my 'stache to my 'burns' is less than the length of the razor. I've tried shaving twice so far, and I've just been going XTG both times on my cheeks (and WTG, ATG for my neck). Is this a workable solution, or should I try something else?

Also... any advice for getting my chin and jawline? I've not quite figured those out yet.

You don't have to use the full length of the blade on your cheek. Come in at an angle so only a portion of the blade touches your cheek. If you have a spike tipped razor be very careful though.

There is also the guillotine stroke you could use. Instead of holding the blade perpendicular you would have the toe leading.Think of the guillotines blade that is raked at a 45 degree angle and instead of cutting a neck you are cutting a whisker.

It is very easy to slice into youself with this stroke. I would only attempt the guillotine stroke after you are very comfortable handling your blade.
