Gents, this is my Aust, which has been honed by expert. It has x strokes on the edge, it seems that is honed heel forward, and then it passed the toe forward?

Yes, and then I believe stropped with paste. Looks like a usable edge. How is the shave?
X and it almost looks like a the bevel is split in two diferent finitions, tape?

It can shave, but I think it originally stayed at 12k. Waiting on my three balsas, wonderful.

I don't know how he did it, it is very different from other edges I have seen.

The same razor, more pics.
Full hollow grind, can’t find a reason to use tape, but it does have two layers of edges.
I did use a few years back a layer of tape to isolate the edge on very high grit stones and wider bevels. To polish the whole bevel can take a while.
Shaves where not better, and it got confusing. So now I just take the time to get the whole bevel and edge as I like it.
